A glimpse of the future?

Every time I talk to another Mason I hear of more brothers demiting from my mother lodge and joining another one here in the valley.

Last Monday I had a chance to attend a double EA in that lodge. It was what I hoped my lodge would be like. There were so many brothers there that at the end when the new Brothers were invited to sit among us, they actually had to look for open seats.

Everyone there was pleasant and amiable. It was a good night. I've been urged to demit and join this new lodge. I would feel bad leaving my mother lodge, but truth be told, there were more brothers from this other lodge at my raising than from my lodge. And the majority of the brothers that were in my original lodge at the time, have since demited and joined this new one.

On the one hand, there is a special place in my heart for the lodge in which I was initiated, passed, and raised. On the other hand, this other lodge represents the reasons that I joined in the first place.

I'll see what happens, but I think I'll probably be making the move.
